William Branham tells of a series of prophecies that were given to him in June 1933 by vision that would transpire before the coming of the Lord.[1].

William Branham was very bold with these prophecies, claiming that the visions would be accurate "to the dot" and were "Thus Saith The Lord".[2]. While he states that there were seven visions , he added the Roosevelt prophecy (in 1958); the egg-shaped, driverless car is clearly two prophecies; and he added an additional prophecy in 1964 (that he had never previously told) relating to women electing the wrong man (we assume that he went with seven visions because seven is a much more spiritual number).

In the Laodicean Church Age book, William Branham says, “Now let me say this. Can anyone prove any of those visions wrong? Were they not all fulfilled?” Over 80 years after 1933, we now have the benefit of hindsight in our ability to confirm whether these prophecies were accurate or not.

When were these prophecies made?

The first time that William Branham mentioned his visions of 1933 was in 1955:

Now, you remember that. And when Mussolini had first come in power, one morning by a vision… Now, it's written on old paper, laying at the house today, dated way back in 1933—'32 or '33. [3]

William Branham's recorded sermons are the only source as to the content of these visions. There is no corroborating or independent evidence that he ever made these visions public until 1955. In fact, William Branham indicated that most of the visions had been fulfilled in 1960:

I was on my way to Sunday school, and when I was getting my Bible, a vision came before me; and I was stopped in the floor. And here was what it said. It's on yellow paper. Will be printed in the "Herald of Faith" right away, because most all of it is fulfilled.[4]

William Branham often included facts when describing these prophecies that are historically inaccurate. William Branham stated that he kept a book of his prophecies[5]; however, the contents of this book were never released to the public. It is our understanding that the Branham family has stated that this book has been "lost". However, others have speculated that it was intentionally destroyed because its contents did not support the claims that William Branham made.

Now, in 1933 when we were worshiping over here in the Masonic temple where the Church of Christ stands today, on one April morning before leaving home, I was dedicating my--a car (I got a '33 model car, and I was dedicating it to the Lord's service.), and in a vision I saw the end time. Now, notice how striking this is. Back yonder when I was just a boy, and you can imagine what a 1933 model car looked like--now, what it looked like. And I went over there to the Masonic temple where... Some of you old-timers in here remembers; it's wrote down on an old paper at home. It's already in print and went out around the world. See? That was in 1933. And I predicted that there would be some great tragedy happen to this United States before or by the year of 1977. How many remembers me saying that? Look at the hands. Sure.[6]

We have been unable to locate a copy of the print version of the original 1933 prophecies and many speculate that it, in fact, never existed. In fact, there is no evidence that these prophecies were made in 1933.

Quotes of William Branham

This is the first mention of the visions of 1933. William Branham does not state that there were seven visions. He only mentions four (emphasis and numbers added) and he states that it was either in 1932 04 1933:

I believe that God is permitting communism to hit the land. I believe I can sensibly prove that by the Bible, that God promised that up into those isms, as communism years ago, when they first got out that N.R.A. I… Now, you remember that. (1) And when Mussolini had first come in power, one morning by a vision… Now, it’s written on old paper, laying at the house today, dated way back in 1933—’32 or ’33.
Going to Sunday school one morning, I was caught away in a vision. (2) And I said, “Now…” Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, I said, “Now, there’s going to be three great isms. Which is now in existence. One of them is in Rome, which is—is Fascism, and one of them is in Germany which is Nazi—Nazism. And the other one is in Russia, which is communism.” I said, “Those three great isms is the unclean spirits that went out of the mouth of the false prophet, and the dragons, and so forth that will unite themselves together, speaking things that they should not, and they’ll all beat at one another, until they’ll finally wind up in one ism. And I predict that that will be communism. And communism will burn the Vatican city. And I said, “Just before the end time comes…” Now remember, I still say this: “Before the end time comes…” Wrote twenty-three years ago. (3) “Before the end time comes, there’ll be a woman, that’ll be a great ruler in this nation. She will either be president or something on that order, some great woman. (4) And at that time, automobiles, just before the coming of the Lord, will be in the shape of an egg.” Now, remember that; keep it in mind. See? That was in 1932, or something like that. And look how they’re shaping down every year, right to it. We’re nearer the end time; we are.[8]

In respect of William Branham's prophecies, his classic ambiguous prophecy relates to the "prophesied" birth of his son, Joseph.
