The Scriptural Witness
Acts 2:38
- Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.[1]
Acts 8:14-16
- Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.[2]
Acts 10:48
- And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.[3]
Acts 19:5
- On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.[4]
Romans 6:3
- Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?[5]
