The joy of Baptism in Sakhalin Island, Russia: a clean heart and identification with Jesus Christ.

It is very easy to become a Christian.

Acts 2:38 outlines two simple things that you must do, and one thing that God will do in response.

"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38)

    1. It is necessary to repent. This means to ask God's forgiveness for your past actions, and turn your heart in dedication to obey God's Word.
    2. It is necessary to be baptized. This means being immersed under water by another person in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Find out more about baptism) Jesus was baptized at the start of his ministry, and likewise, all of his followers are invited to do the same.

If you obey, God is obligated to give you the Holy Ghost, and eternal life.

What does it mean to "receive the Holy Ghost" and be "born again"?

If you had the spirit of Beethoven, you would compose music. If you had the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci, you would paint and invent. If you had the Holy Spirit, you would live like Jesus Christ.

At the time of your birth, two things happened: you were separated from your mother, and took your first breath. Every person lives by the filling and refilling of natural air, which is a type of the Spirit. Being born again means you are filled with the Spirit of Christ Jesus. Every person that is born again lives by the filling and refilling of the Holy Spirit (also called the Holy Ghost), which is the breath of eternal life.

This is what it means to be born again: you leave behind all the things that used to satisfy your soul, and you become dependant on the Holy Spirit alone.

The Evidence of the Holy Spirit, and how to live a Christian Life

The New Testament explains that the evidence of the Holy Spirit is "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance" (Galatians 5:22-23). These things are called the "fruit of the Spirit' because each person is identified by the life they live, just like a tree is identified by the fruit it bears.

Jesus taught that anyone filled with the Holy Ghost will live like Christ, and believe and follow God's Word. However, Jesus also taught that some people would lay false claim to the Holy Ghost. The difference between these two types of people is that only someone with the Holy Spirit will follow the Word and Will of God, because the Holy Spirit is the Life of God and cannot do anything but agree with itself.

Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. ...Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 7:16-17, 20-21)

Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15) When asked, "What is the greatest commandment?" He responded:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost

The gift of the Holy Ghost is a promise of God. God once told a man named Abraham to leave his family and land, and then promised him a son. Abraham did leave his family and lands, and finally received a son twenty-five years later at the age of 100. This son was the father of the Hebrew people, including all of the Hebrew prophets and kings. However, just like Abraham had to wait patiently for the promise of God, you may have to wait patiently for the promise of God as well.

If you obey God's instructions (repent, be baptized, and keep his commandments), he is obligated by his Word to give you the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. (James 5:7)

God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness,
    indignation and wrath,
    (Romans 2:5b-8)

    Open Invitation

We invite you to repent, be baptized, and follow God's Word. It is an incredible and eternal experience.

The Bible says that "it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe, (1 Corinthians 1:21) and it instructs us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. (Hebrews 10:25) This simply means that Christians must either find or establish Churches where they can worship the Lord Jesus Christ, and be taught from the Word of God with others of similar faith.

Thank you for considering this invitation. However, if you feel you cannot accept this invitation at this time, then please continue to read your Bible, learn about the ministry of William Branham, and seek God with an open heart.
