Before we continue with the questions about God, here is the answer: In the beginning God created a man and a woman, Adam and Eve.  Adam and Eve disobeyed God's one commandment.  Since then all the children of this cursed couple have been subject to death, suffering, and temptation.  God could have completly abandoned or obliterated the human race, but he instead chose to redeem his children (that is what he calls us) by sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to died for our sins that we might live.
