Visiting the graves of the founders of the great religions

William Branham said that he had visited the graves of Mohammed, Buddha and Confucius:

I've visit the grave of most all the founders of a religions; the Mohammedan, and also to--to the grave of Buddha, and Confucius, and many of the philosophers.[1]

But the facts are:

  1. William Branham was never in China. Confucius was buried in Kong Lin cemetery which lies in Qufu in the Shandong Province.
  2. There is no grave of Buddha. He was cremated. It is impossible that William Branham visited Buddha's grave.
  3. Muhammad is buried in the Al-Masjid al-Nabawi ("Mosque of the Prophet") in the city of Medina in Saudi Arabia. There is no indication that William Branham was ever in Saudi Arabia. He did land in Egypt twice on his flights to and from India.

The conclusion: William Branham lied about visiting the graves of Mohammed, Buddha, and Confucius.

Did William Branham visit King Farouk in Egypt?

In 1961, William Branham stated that he had met King Farouk in Egypt:

And when I got off at Cairo, Egypt, just before we met that King Farouk...[2]

This would have been in 1954 on his way to India. However, we know that this could not possibly be true because Farouk was deposed in the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. He was forced to abdicate and went into exile in Monaco and Italy, where he lived until his death in 1965. He was not in Egypt in 1954!

Conclusion: William Branham lied about visiting King Farouk in Egypt.

Around the world seven times?

William Branham talked a lot about going overseas but most of the trips he planned were cancelled. He stated that he had been around the world seven times but we have been unable to confirm this. The only time he actually could have gone around the world was when he visited India in 1954. However, he went to India via Europe and Egypt and stated he returned home the same route.

The facts:

  1. He appears to have gone overseas a total of 5 times.
  2. He never actually went around the world even once.
  3. He was never in Austraiia or New Zealand and the trip to India was his only trip to Asia.
  4. He was in Africa twice
  5. He was in Europe three times, one of which was on his trip to India.

it appears that William Branham considered a trip across the Atlantic Ocean to be a trip "around the world".

Did he travel around the world seven times? No!

Did he travel around the world even once? No!

Here are the trips of William Branham that we are aware of:

  1. 1950 (April) - Trip to Europe (England & Finland)
  2. 1951 - Trip to South Africa
  3. 1954 (September) - Travelled to India via Lisbon, Rome, and Egypt
  4. 1955 (June) - Travelled to Switzerland and Germany
  5. 1965 - Trip to South Africa (no meetings held)

Conclusion: William Branham lied when he stated that he had been around the world seven times.
