News items

I think that you should try to keep news items up to date and current - i.e. you should have at least one news item per week. For example, you can inform everyone of the updated audio and video player and refer to the page so that they can look at it. I think that it is important to keep our editors aware of everything that it going on. BroRod 10:45, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

Country Infoboxes

Jer, Looks like there is is a great tool to import templates that have meta-templates with in them (or as I call them sub-templates). Here is the tool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ExpandTemplates (maybe you already knew about it). Otherwise this was going to make for a very interesting project. This will probably come in handy for a lot of other templates we want to use from Wikipedia but don't want to go into trying to get all the meta-templates. The question now is, what content for the country infoboxes do you want included? All of it or do you want to remove some of it. Take a look at this sample test one (note, none of the photos have been uploaded into it yet). User:Jcpeterson/Infobox_Country2 Also take a look at the original on the Wikipedia page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada If you can give me an idea of what you'd like to include I think we can proceed with getting these done. God bless, and I'm really sorry I haven't been able to do more here. JordanCP 03:30, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

Also I'll plan on taking out a lot of the unnecessary wiki links that are in these templates (unless you say otherwise). JordanCP 03:52, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

Notes on healing line page

Just a thought. Put those notes at the end of the healing line pages in a template that way they are easy to update. Just a thought (that you probably already are thinking of doing). :) Actually I can create one and then have Hadassah update all the pages with it. Just an idea, let me know. :) JordanCP 14:27, 18 April 2007 (CDT)

Globe photo on South America page

Jer, The photo [1] that you have of South America on this page Portal:The Message Today (South America) says you got it from NASA's globe software World Wind. I've looked on the net for anything similar and couldn't come up with anything that I liked for the other continents. Would you mind either pointing me in the right direction or if you don't mind just snapping/capturing the photos and uploading them (if you have the software and can do it)? You don't need to worry about placing them on the page. I can do that. Thanks bunches! JordanCP 19:28, 19 April 2007 (CDT)

No rush on this either... JordanCP 19:29, 19 April 2007 (CDT)

New Healing line pages

We need a page for Skin disorders/diseases and one for "Dropsy."

Dropsy: Edema (No longer in scientific use) An accumulation of an excessive amount of watery fluid in cells, tissues, or body cavities. Edema can be mild and benign as in pregnancy or prolonged standing in the elderly, or a serious sign of heart, liver, or kidney failure, or of other diseases.

I don't know what headings these should go under. Friday 10:24, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

SVG and PNG file formats

Jeremy, I've been having Hadassah download the SVG files from WikiMedia and then as a workaround for not being able to upload SVG files in WikiMedia 1.5 (SVG still needs to be manually added to the upload white-list to allow uploads, mentioned this to your dad awhile back) I have her add the PNG extension to the files. From my testing this is seeming to work but it could potentially break something in really old browsers (and technically isn't the way it should normally be done with files if I understand correctly). The SVG file format is so new and unsupported I'm really surprised that WikiMedia is pushing it so much. Either way, if you see or hear about any problems with the flag images let me know and we'll try something different. JordanCP 18:57, 8 May 2007 (CDT)

Links to sermons on Healing line pages

Jeremy,

Ref: The links to the sermons for the Healing line pages; I just created has a bit more then I know we originally discussed but I thought it would be nice to give the reader several options. Hadassah is going to start working on these but if you'd rather it done differently then this example I've given her, let us know. Note the text, PDF and MP3 links.

Thanks! :)

Jeremy, check your email

If you get a chance, was wondering if you have a Photoshop file of the logo. Thanks! JordanCP 15:21, 6 June 2007 (CDT)

7th Seal

Agree on not saying anything about the 7th seal. On the other hand not having a page on it might look kind of strange... putting links on the page to the sermon on thefreeword.com would seem ok to me... just thoughts. :) JordanCP 12:01, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

Eagle's View

Jer, Thanks for the info! Was just going to email him. I figured it wouldn't be a problem. I'll check with him on what help he may need and maybe we can get someone to work with him on getting a lot of his things up on the site. I'm assuming you gave him an account? If you go to http://www.theeaglesview.org/ , click on 'Read EV' link and type the password 'readev' and press the 'Submit' button (enter key doesn't always seem to work) you'll see a lot of the issues already up on the web. The reason for the password protection is because they have ran into copyright issues (which he is going back in the issues working to resolve and get permission for reprinting rights). JordanCP 12:42, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

Here is a quote from the password side of the site. This is all I know about it. I'd say we are being quite a bit more careful with what we are doing. I know maybe technically we should have signed statements to use interviews on here... but I feel bad with a lot of people asking for things like this (maybe putting together a basic form would be good). I've seen in a lot of cases where there has been a copyright issue that the site just takes down the offended content once a compliant comes in and that's the end of it. I'd recommend talking with Brother Aaron McGary when he comes up for camp about it a bit more. I know Brother Aaron Hardy stopped password protecting Bride Music (after he spoke with Brother McGary and I believe your dad). And that site could be a nightmare for copyright issues. I by far don't know much about copyright law. I was reading some things on Wikipedia one day (something to do with the site I'm working on down here) and I did notice that it appeared to be a bit more involved to use content from their site (then what I originally thought we were doing here).
Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If you have reached this page (inside eagle’s view) without a password, PLEASE email ev@theeaglesview.org and let us know.

Over the past ten years many articles, poems and pictures have been submitted to EV with no author credited or sent as author unknown. Beginning with issue number 0031 all material submitted has been closely verified and received authorization prior to publishing. The reason why this section of EV is password protected is to limit any copyright royalty payments. The number of readers will depend upon the number of EV subscribers, limiting any unknown possible liabilities.

Our intentions has been, and still remains, and that it, to be in harmony with all copyright laws. However, one unintentional oversight in EV’s pass printing could very well put this publication out of circulation. Jesus said, we wise as serpents and harmless as doves. That what we are endeavoring to do.

In Christian Love, EV

Brother Green's page

Jeremy,

My understanding is on the testimony is that Brother Green's editor gave the text for the Generation book and was actually original from Tucson Tabernacle/Brother Green (transcribed and edited down from the testimony he had given a few years ago here at the church). She had said to me that we had full rights to use it... but I wasn't aware that it was the same... So I agree this could be a problem... my problem is I'm not a writer so rewriting it isn't something that I probably could do and make it sound right. In another course of conversation (I think it was about the TT website) that it was the testimony that was going on the new site and that the church had the rights to it. I don't care if it's modified or whatnot but I can also recheck with Brother Green and the sister that does his editing and we could also check with Sister Angel (if you decided to still use it). All in all, your call and I didn't realize it was the same as the Generation book. I don't care what is used on the page. :) I don't have the book in front of me (in Phoenix at a convention for the next 2 days) but I'm wondering where the text on this page (which was also given at the same time) fits into the book. Pearry Green Experiences 2 This was other info I felt wasn't necessary on the main page and really we may not want it at all. Again your call. :) Do what you feel and I'll help as far as tracking down who has the rights to it if you want. :) JordanCP 19:30, 20 July 2007 (CDT)

Update and WIP items on Healing and Eyewitness pages

Jeremy, Thanks for the note. I really feel in some ways relieved to see you setting them aside (I know it would be great to have them on the site when it goes live but, I guess the Lord knows best). I will try to have Brother Green's page done in the next 10 days (as far as the review). The video I'm doubting I'll be able to get/shoot though before then. I was thinking of taking a clip from his testimony at CBW or the one he gave here. One thing that caused a delay is Brother Green has me going on a trip with him to the Congo in two weeks for 12 days (will also be going through Kenya and Dubai, UAE). I only had about 18 days advance notice on this trip so we've been in overdrive trying to get ready. I'll be doing some video work while over there as well as traveling with Brother Green and doing whatever he needs. This brings up the question, is there anything you think that you'd want from over there? Video footage? Photos? If I have time I'll do what I can. JordanCP 21:19, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

Did you feel that we need to change the text on Brother Green's page because of it being like the Generation book? Or were you ok with keeping it like it is? (Going to double check to make sure there are no copyright issues that I wasn't aware of with the office here too). JordanCP 10:01, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
Yeah I liked the changes you made to the page. You are a great writer... no problems there! :) Sounds good! I've CC'd you on a email that I sent Brother Green's editor about this too. JordanCP 10:09, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
