==The Word in the Old Testament==
In the Old Testament, the Word of the Lord was the promise of God received either directly from God (in the case of Abraham, Moses, Elisha, and the Prophets), or through the prophets (as in the case of the majority of the children of Israel). In essence, the whole Bible is the word of the LORD. 
The "word of the Lord" and the "word of God" are mentioned over 300 times in the Old Testament.  Some key scriptures include:
