Jesus later appeared to the Apostle Paul as a great shining light, and called Paul to be a "''light to the gentiles"''.  Paul wrote to the gentiles and said ''"but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light"''.  The children of light are the sons of God, just as Jesus is the [[Son of God]].
