William Branham taught that there is One God who reveals himself in different ways. William Branham condemned both the Oneness and Trinitarian doctrines (even if they each had some element of truth) as departing from the Truth, which is outlined in the Scriptures, and often posed the following questions:

The following is a collection of quotes from the sermons of William Branham about the Godhead.
William Branham presented an Apostolic perspective of the Godhead, that agreed with both the Old Testament and the New Testament teachings on the nature and revelation of God.  There is one God who reveals himself in three offices or manifestations of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Jesus said ''"I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father."'' (John 16:28)  The same Pillar of Fire that met Moses in the wilderness met Saul of Tarsus and said ''"I am Jesus"'' (Acts 9:5).  Jesus was begotten of God the Father when he came into the world in the form of a virgin-born man, yet he appeared to Saul in the same form he was known in the Old Testament: he had returned to the Father.
    {{TOCright}}
It is also important to note that William Branham was '''not''' a dualist as he believed in One God, and did not accept that Jesus and the Father were two separate persons in the Godhead.  William Branham also did not believe in the concept of "eternal sonship", as every son is begotten (or has a beginning).

    Commentary by William Branham

Man in the Image of God

Now, remember, you're in a cycle of three, but you're one person. Like Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, cycle of three, but one Person. Three attributes of the same God: fatherhood... Three offices like: fatherhood, sonship, and Holy Ghost. And you are: body, spirit, and soul.
Now, the outside body has five inlets to it, to contact your earthly home: see, taste, feel, smell, and hear. The inside, which is a spirit, it has five senses: conscience, and love, and so forth. But the inside of that, the soul, has one thing. That's where you live.
    WORKS.IS.FAITH.EXPRESSED_ SHREVEPORT.LA V-7 N-1 FRIDAY_ 65-1126
Faith is the only direct and positive sense, and it's the sixth sense. Faith is more than sight. Faith is more than feeling. You do not feel faith. You don't taste faith. You don't smell faith. You don't see faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

    Name of the Father

And now we find out that Jesus said, also, "I came in My Father's Name, and you received Me not." Then, the Name of the Father must be Jesus. That's right. The Name of the Father is Jesus, 'cause Jesus said so. "I carry My Father's Name. I come in My Father's Name, and you received Me not. Then, His Name was Jesus.
And Gabriel called Him Jesus, the prophets called Him Jesus, and He was absolutely Jesus. Before His birth, even the holy prophet called His Name Emmanuel, which is, "God with us." Then, "God was manifested in the flesh, in order to take away the sin of the world," and, in doing so, He was given the Name of Jesus. So, Jesus is the Name. And the Name was placed in a Man; not a church, not a denomination, not a creed, but a Man! He chose to place His Name in Jesus Christ. Now we find out that then He becomes the place of God's worship, where you worship Him.
Ever before He was even born, His Name was called Jesus. It was so important, it was give to His mother by the Angel Gabriel, that His Name would be called "Jesus, Son of God," what He was.

    Yesterday, today, and forever

There would be different ideas about it. But the only way to justly make it so, is to go back and find out what He was yesterday, and what He did yesterday, how He acted yesterday. And then see if He will come and be that same thing today.
Now, everyone believes and knows that the corporal body of the Lord Jesus sets at the right hand of God Almighty at the throne of God, making intercessions upon our confession. You all believe that? And the Holy Spirit is here, which was upon Him, which was God in Christ. Now, this is God in His church. God was in a Pillar of Fire once, the Logos that went out of God, that was the Angel of the covenant that went with the children of Israel through the wilderness.
Then He was manifested, the same God in the flesh, which was His Son, that He overshadowed a virgin, created a Blood cell, and lived in that Body of flesh, the Son of God.
    SIRS.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS_ BLOOMINGTON.IL SUNDAY_ 61-0409
Now, then when that Son of God, gave His Life and His body for a sacrifice, and God raised His body up on the third day, and set it at His right hand on high, then the Holy Spirit came back; and on the day of Pentecost the Bible said, "There were tongues of fire," like tongues, like a lick of fire, "set upon each of them." That was God, the same Holy Spirit that was in the wilderness with the children of Israel...
    You say, "That wasn't Jesus?"
It was. After His death, burial, and resurrection, Saul was on his road down to Damascus, and a great Light struck him down. Jesus on earth, said, "I come from God, and I go to God." And after His death, burial, and resurrection, and His ascension, Saul on his road down to Damascus was struck down onto the ground. And he looked up and there was a Light that blinded him and cried, "Saul, Saul why persecutest thou Me?"
He said, "Who are You, Lord?"
He said, "I'm Jesus," that had returned back to that same Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel in the wilderness.
    SIRS.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS_ BLOOMINGTON.IL SUNDAY_ 61-0409
Saint John the 6th chapter, they were discussing with Him about different ideas and things, and said, "You said, 'You were as old as Abraham,' and said, 'You said you seen Abraham,' and you're a man not over fifty years old, now we know you're mad and got a devil."
He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." Before there was, He was. Because He was the I AM, that was in the burning bush; the Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel through the wilderness was the same God that was manifested in Jesus Christ, died, ascended upon high, and sent back the Holy Spirit. And in John 14, John 14:7, said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also. Greater than this shall he do for I go unto My Father."
Saint John the 5th chapter, the 19th verse of the 5th chapter, He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doing; that doeth, the Son likewise." He did as God showed Him.
So He said, "I say unto you, I can do nothing." He didn't claim to be a Divine healer." He said He only did as He saw by a vision what God told Him to do and promised the church to do the same thing.
"Yet, a little while and the world seeth Me no more, yet ye shall see Me (Now watch, world, 'cosmos,' which means 'world order,') will see Me no more (unbelievers) will see Me, no more, yet, ye shall see Me (ye, the believers), for I ('I,' is a personal pronoun) will be with you, even in you, to the end of the world": Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.

    Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

God making Himself known through the Fatherhood, through the Sonship, and through the Holy Spirit. Now, see, He brought into Hisself a blood cell, wrapped Hisself up into this, broke forth the Blood at Calvary, throwed out His Blood that He might bring through this Blood-cleansing, by this same Atonement, taking every sinner and cleanse him, bring him into a fellowship that He can talk with man and walk with man, like He did in the garden of Eden before sin ever come on the earth.
And our relationship is restored to Jehovah through the offering of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And Christ's body was only revealed in that Blood cell and through the offering of Blood (which is Life), that He might destroy the life of sin and bring in the Life of righteousness through His Son, Christ Jesus, putting a part of His Life in ours, and we are together.
Didn't Jesus say, "In that day, you'll know that I'm in the Father, the Father is in Me, and I in you, and you in Me?" There you are. Then the Church of the Living God is the anointed body of the Lord Jesus Christ, walking on earth here, giving every hope and everything to the outside world, that the--nothing else can give, Eternal Life.
    GOD.PERFECTING.HIS.CHURCH_ BINGHAMTON.NY SATURDAY_ 54-1204
It's three manifestations of the same God. See? It's three attributes. God, the Father, that was in the wilderness, in a form of a Pillar of Fire; and then that same God expressed Himself in His Son, which was the same God in His Son; and now that same God now expresses Himself in you and I, as the Holy Spirit. The same God, all the time, not three Gods; three manifestations of the same God, three attributes of a Father. That's what He was. He displayed it, as a Son. That's what He was. And now as the Holy Spirit in His people.

    The Logos

The Logos that went out of God as... No disregards to Catholic people now. But the Catholic church, I... My background, my family's Catholic. And I have the--the Catholic people here, the book called "Facts of Our Faith." And they use the word of eternal sonship of God. The word don't even make sense to me. The word "eternal" means "eternity, which had no begin or has no end." And "son" means "had a beginning." So how could it... It could be a eternal Godship, but never an eternal sonship. A son is one that's begotten of. So it had a beginning.
So... And the Logos, which was the Son of God went out, created by these great fountains of purity, God, as those Spirits went out, and it created the Logos. And it was a body. It was in the form of what we are now, which is called in the clergy way of speaking it, a theophany. It's a body that doesn't have a spirit in it. It's a body that's waiting for you Christians. As soon as the life leaves this, you go into that body. When this earthly tabernacle be dissolved, we have one already waiting, a theophany.
    THIRSTING.FOR.LIFE_ CHICAGO.IL SUNDAY_ 57-0630
Now, when God was in theophany, which was Christ in the making, then that theophany become flesh and dwelled among us. Then that was to redeem. He came from there down through this to redeem this creature, give it life, and take it back up into the eternal one. See?
Now, there's only one Eternal Life, and that lays in God only. And God only has Eternal Life. And we have been privileged to become the sons of God. Then that word: "He that heareth My words and believeth on him that sent me, hath Eternal life." The Greek word "Zoe," there used for God's own life. The creature that accepts Him becomes a part of God and is just as eternal as God is. That's right. There's no reason for us to doubt that. It's God's everlasting, eternal Word. And everything that had a beginning has an end.
    THIRSTING.FOR.LIFE_ CHICAGO.IL SUNDAY_ 57-0630
the Son that was with the Father in the beginning was the Logos that went out of God.
And it was the Theophany of God that went out, the human form that didn't have eyes like you see: a better eye. It didn't have ears like you hear, but a far more hearing. See? It was a Theophany, that all this rainbow condescended into a--a Theophany. Moses saw It when It passed through the rock like that. He saw the back parts, said, "It looked like a man."
    QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS.ON.HEBREWS.2_ JEFF.IN COD WEDNESDAY_ 57-1002
Abraham saw Him when He stepped down into human flesh and eat a calf, drank some milk, eat the butter. Abraham saw Him as He just stepped in, and then vanished right away from it. We found out that our bodies are made of sixteen elements of the earth; they just come together. And God pulled them together, and put two Angels in these bodies, Angels that stood and talked. And Angels were men at one, and there at that time.
    QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS.ON.HEBREWS.2_ JEFF.IN COD WEDNESDAY_ 57-1002

Remember, our Lord Jesus Christ never did identify Himself as the Son of God. He said, "You said I was; to this end I was born," and so forth, but He never identified Himself.
And, now, that was the Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel, was the Lord Jesus Christ in Spirit form, (do you believe that?) the Logos that went out of God. [Congregation said, "Amen."--Ed.]
And then when He was on earth, He said, "I come from God, and I go to God." We all know that.
And after His death, burial, and resurrection. Saul of Tarsus was on his road down to Damascus, to persecute the--the Christians, because they were teaching things contrary to what they had been taught. And he was a great warrior; under Gamaliel, one of the outstanding teachers of the day, in their school, their monastery; and a great man, and an officer of the church. And it was there that a great Light, the Pillar of Fire again, struck him down, in the middle of the day. And a Voice said, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?"
    MARRIAGE.AND.DIVORCE_ JEFF.IN V-3 N-13 SUNDAY_ 65-0221M
'Now if you notice when Paul, Saul, raised up, he said, "Lord, Who are You?" Now, that boy, being a Jew, he certainly wouldn't have called anything, unless it'd been something to symbol God, he wouldn't have called it "Lord." So, It was the same Pillar of Fire.
As Jesus said, "I go to God. I came from God, and I return to God."
There He was, back in the form of a Pillar of Fire again; He said, "I am Jesus Whom thou persecutest; and it's hard for you to kick against the pricks."
    MARRIAGE.AND.DIVORCE_ JEFF.IN V-3 N-13 SUNDAY_ 65-0221M
So He first was God, Jehovah. And out of Him... Let's just picture now as a little drama so you can get it. Let's see coming out of space where there's nothing, let's make it a little white Light, like a mystic Light, like a Halo. And that was the Logos that went out of God in the beginning. That was the Son of God that came out of the bosom of the Father. That was what was in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelled among us. In the beginning was God. And then out of God came the Logos, a part of God that went out of God.

Oneness: Jesus is not his own Father

He can't be His own Father; Jesus couldn't be the one Jesus, one God, all like that. He was created by God the Father. Right. And God the Father dwelt in Him that He might use His Blood for sanctification, and cleanse His church with that same Spirit, to live in His church, to perform the works and the signs and fulfill the Scripture that He promised, "In the last days as it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man."
    ABRAHAM_ LONG.BEACH.CA SATURDAY_ 61-0211
"I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that in His body He was a man. He was borned of a woman just like I was. But His Blood was not of a woman; It was of God. And Jehovah God, the Logos, Who brood over the earth (in my message this morning), and brood the first man out of the dust of the earth, overshadowed Mary, and brood over her to fulfill His Word, and created the Blood cell that brought forth the Son of the living God. I believe in a body He was man. I believe in His soul He was God. He was God's manifestation here on earth. God was in Christ, reconciling Him--the world to Himself. I believe that He was not just a mere man, neither was He a prophet; He was God Emmanuel. I believe with all my heart, that being truth.
    GOD.KEEPS.HIS.WORD_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 57-0120E
I do not believe that Jesus could be His own father. I believe that Jesus had a Father, and that was God. But God dwelled and tabernacled in this body called Jesus, and He was Emmanuel: God with us. And there's no other God besides this God. He is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. And the Name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost... Father: the Lord, Son: Jesus, Holy Ghost: Logos, Spirit of God. Father, Son, Holy Ghost, Lord Jesus Christ; that's Him. And in Him dwelled the Fullness of the Godhead bodily.

    God is a spirit

Now, God's a Spirit, so there couldn't be any sex. There couldn't be any sexual desire. Because if it was, then Jesus wasn't born a virgin birth. So God is a Spirit, and He overshadowed this Mary and created in her the Blood cell that brought forth the Son of God. And it's through His holy Blood that we have access to life. And our sexual blood is dismissed, and we have the Blood of Jesus Christ that stands for an atonement, making an atonement for our sins. How beautiful the picture. You believe that? You have to be if you're saved. You can't accept nothing else and be saved. Only He was the virgin born Son of God. God Almighty just overshadowed the woman; she knowed nothing about a man. And so He just overshadowed her and created in her, this cell.
    THE.RESURRECTION.OF.LAZARUS_ EVANSVILLE.IN SUNDAY_ 53-1122
Now, how many knows that Christ is the Spirit of God? We all know that. He's the anointed One. Jesus was the anointed. There's where people who believe that there's three or four different Gods, get all mixed up. See? God is a Spirit. Jesus was the body that the Spirit of God dwelled in, made Him Emmanuel, God, tabernacled on earth. He was God. Jesus Christ was God, yet He was the Son of God. His flesh was the Son of God 'cause God created it, but inside He was God. "It's not Me," said Jesus, "does the works, it's My Father that dwelleth in Me. And that day you'll know that I'm in the Father, the Father in Me, I in you, and you in Me." There you are.
    WHY.CRY.SPEAK_ CLARKSVILLE.IN SUNDAY_ 59-1004E
But now the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ is the same-self Spirit. The anointed One, Jesus, the Man, was the Son of God, but the Holy Spirit was on Him was God. "My Father dwells in Me." See, It's the Holy Spirit, so it's still God.
    A.PARADOX_ PHOENIX.AZ V-19 N-1 SUNDAY_ 65-0117
Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. He was God the Word. Every one of us believe that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Jesus is the Son of God, that is the body, and God was the Spirit that dwelt in that Tabernacle that He created for Himself, a virgin body. God...
That's the reason He said here, "I've been so long with you and you don't know Me? He that's seen Me hath seen the Father." In other words, "You see the Father working through Me. God is a Spirit. They that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and truth." See? God is a Spirit. And here we find the Word being made manifest. In I John we find it; also in John 11, it says here that... And also in John 5:24, We find many places. John 14, Jesus said that, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Why? It's the Word made manifest in them.

Who did Abraham meet? Now think. He didn't have no father; He didn't have no mother. He never had a time that He began, and He never has a time when He will end, so that same King of Salem has to be living today. Amen. You see it? It was that theophany that was that Son of God. What Salem? That Jerusalem which is Above, that Abraham, being blessed, was searching, find, trying to find the City whose Builder and Maker was God.

Trinity: One person, not three persons

God didn't have three people up there, and He sent one of them, His Son. It was God, Himself, come in the form of a Son. A son has a beginning, and the Son had a beginning. That, some of you dear Catholic people, I got your book, Facts Of Our Faith, said, "The Eternal sonship of God." How you going to express that word? How you going to make it have sense? How can it be Eternal? That's not the Bible. That's your book, "Eternal sonship." They don't... That word is not right. For, anything that's a son had a beginning, and Eternal has no beginning, so it isn't Eternal sonship. Christ become flesh and dwelt among us. He had a beginning. Wasn't no Eternal sonship. It's the Eternal Godhead, not sonship. Now, He come to redeem us, and He did redeem us.

What the Father shows the Son

In other words, you see the Father express Hisself through the Son. Him and the Father were one in the sense that His Father was dwelling in Him, not Him doing the works; He was a Son, Himself, the immortal, virgin born, Son of God. And then in Him was dwelling the God the Father, expressing Hisself to the world, His attitude towards the people. See? Well, that's how Christ and God were one. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Now, He said, "When you see Me, you see the Father, and why do you say, 'Show us the Father?'"

It takes two to make a witness. Jesus said, "I'm one, and the Father that dwelleth in Me is the other One. If you can't believe Me, believe the works that He's a doing in Me." See? So that made a confirmation of two. But now, three...

Body of man, Spirit of God

And God had to come down in His Son, Christ Jesus, to suffer. That's right. And God's Blood bled from His body. Yes, sir. God was in His Son. He eat like a man. That's right. He spoke like a man (That's right.) when He would talk to people.
But I tell you, when some people come to take Him, one time, some soldiers, they went back and said, "Never a man spake like this."
He was a man, but that was God speaking out of Him. When He was standing, as I said the other day, by the side of Lazarus' grave, tears rolling down His cheeks, He was a man. But when He said, "Lazarus, come forth," and a man been dead four days come back to life again, that was God speaking out of His Son. Yes, sir.

And God Almighty, God the Father, overshadowed the virgin Mary, and created in her womb a Blood cell which brought forth the Son of God without a sexual desire. And that Blood was shed at Calvary. ...Therefore, the Blood of God saves us. The Blood of God brings Jesus Christ in our midst. The Blood of God brings the Holy Ghost. Not the blood of a Jew or a Gentile; but God's Own creative Blood. Jesus, the Man, was His Son that He created Himself, and God tabernacled in that tabernacle.

The animal doesn't have a soul. The human being has a soul. So the--the--the spirit could not come back upon him after he made his offering, but yet he made it, and sincerely, speaking with faith that he believed that that perfect Offering was coming.
But when the Blood cell was broke, in Jesus Christ, God was released. See, He was God. That Blood wasn't Jewish. That Blood wasn't Gentile. That was a creative Blood cell, God Himself. And now through that Blood, making a propitiation for our sins, cleanses the believer, takes all of his sins away from him, as if he never had sinned. God puts them in the Sea of Forgetfulness. And the same God that was upon Jesus Christ continues in the believer, doing the same works that He did here, for It's the same Spirit.

The Lord said unto my Lord

A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.(Psalms 110:1)

"David said, 'The Lord said unto my Lord' Who was it? Father and Lord is the same thing. David said, 'The Lord said unto my Lord, set thou on my right hand.' See? In the Name of the Father--in the Name of the Lord. And Matthew said, 'In the Name of the Son,' and Peter said, 'In the Name of Jesus.' Who is the Son? Jesus. 'In the Name of the Holy Ghost' was Matthew, and Peter said, 'In the Name of Christ' the Logos. Father, Son, Holy Ghost: Lord Jesus Christ. Why, it's just as perfect as it can be." See?

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
